This Montreal Pizzeria Serves Pizza Inspired by the Movie ‘Maman, I Missed the Plane’

The weather is getting colder, and the snowflakes are about to arrive. For many, the first snow is often synonymous with the start of the holiday season.

This will be the perfect time to sit on the sofa for a long time with a good hot chocolate and listen to a bunch of Christmas movies.

A holiday classic is the 1990 movie “Mum, I Missed the Plane”. This one features Kevin McCallister, played by the adorable Mccaulay Culkin. In the film, before the family leaves, the entire household orders pizza, but Kevin fails to get a slice of cheese pizza, his favorite flavor. Furious, he fights with his brother and gets punished. You know the story!

His family goes on vacation leaving him behind and while he is alone he orders himself a pizza. When he receives it, at his doorstep, proudly, he says: “a lovely cheese pizza just for me” (“a good cheese pizza, just for me”). So fans of the film will know how important this pizza is to Kevin. So well, that we see Kevin eating his famous favorite pizza again in the second film.

It is with all due respect for Kevin that the pizzeria Elena, in Saint-Henri, created a pizza just for him. This is a cheese pizza. That’s all! Crispy dough, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese: everything you need to please the nostalgic.

The pizza is offered at a cost of $16. You can also decide to add spicy honey to enhance everything.

Here’s a great idea for a “date” to do during the holidays. It’s up to you whether you prefer to go before or after watching the film. You can even have the pizza delivered and eat it at home, just like Kevin would have done.
