OnePlus is starting to officially talk about its new connected watch. Offered within the Nord range, the OnePlus Nord Watch promises to be affordable and offer a rectangular format.
Present on the connected watch market since 2021 with the Watch, OnePlus intends to continue its momentum. The Chinese manufacturer has great ambitions with its Nord range and wants to position itself at the entry level. At the end of July, we were already talking about the arrival of the OnePlus Nord Watch and the brand decided to devote a page to it on its Indian site.
OnePlus confirms that the OnePlus Nord Watch will be ” Coming soon “emphasizing sport and health with the slogan “Get moving”. This speech is also an opportunity to confirm the rectangular design of the Nord Watch, which inevitably recalls the Apple Watch. It is also quite common for entry-level models to be inspired by the star of the market.
An air of Apple Watch and many mysteries
For its affordable tocante, the brand confirms the presence of a 1.78 inch AMOLED display (45.2mm diagonal). Its definition will be 369 x 448 pixels while the brightness peaks at 500nits. This should keep the watch readable, even in direct sunlight. We will have to be satisfied with this information, OnePlus having decided to present the characteristics of its new watch in dribs and drabs. The manufacturer plans to reveal some one every two daysand this, until September 28th.
For the time being, we can simply get closer to the noises of the corridors. In the summer, we learned that this watch would have a slew of sensors such as monitoring heart rate, sleep or measuring blood oxygen levels (SpO2). Given the entry-level and mid-range orientation of the Nord range (read our OnePlus Nord N20 SE review), you might think the Nord Watch looks like a wristwatch. The device could then compete with the Xiaomi Band 7 Pro, a model equipped with a 1.64-inch rectangular AMOLED screen.
The launch of this watch should take place while OnePlus seeks to establish Nord as a brand in its own right. The firm was inspired by Xiaomi’s situation with Poco to highlight this march. On the price side, it is rumored that the OnePlus Nord Watch will arrive in India at less than 10,000 Indian rupees, i.e. about 125 euros. As a reminder, the brand currently offers a Watch in France at 159 euros.
