After the orca and the beluga, a seal spotted in the Seine

Three months after the killer whale was found dead in the river and a week after the beluga’s failed rescue attempt, a harbor seal was spotted on Tuesday evening in the Seine, near Poses-Amfreville downstream. The Waterways of France invite boatmen and fishermen to be extra vigilant. The Eure prefecture has clarified on a daily basis that a colony of seals has been installed for several years in the Seine estuary. “Although rare, this ascent has therefore already happened in the past”, she adds, believing that “the animal should find the estuary on its own”.
