Sound problems on iPhone 12: Apple is expanding its repair program

Apple is extending its repair program for iPhone 12s with sound issues by an additional year.

As a reminder, this was a hardware problem on some components of these devices produced between October 2020 and April 2021.

Apple has determined that a very limited number of iPhone 12s and iPhone 12 Pros are susceptible to sound issues due to possible receiver module component failure. The affected devices were manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021.

If the receiver on your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not make any sound when you make or receive calls, your device may be eligible for this program.

Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will repair affected devices free of charge.

iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max are not part of this program.

Launched a year ago this program previously covered only 2 years after the date of purchase. Now Apple has extended coverage to 3 yearsgood news for all those who have not yet been able to have their device repaired.
