Luigino Pisano called Gino, ten years already at the counter of his pizzeria

It’s been ten years since Luigino Pisano, known as Gino, opened his pizzeria in Valergues. Its story begins in a village in Piedmont, Altessano. He left him to work in Turin where he met his wife Corinne, of Italian origin. For love, he leaves Italy for the Paris region where he will be a pizza maker for a few years. Subsequently, he will take care of the organization of warehouses. During the summer holidays, the family, which used to go to Aveyron, meets a couple from Valerguois with whom they form a solid friendship.

A village that tastes of childhood

When he first came to Valergues, Gino related that he “I fell in love with the village, with its small square, it reminded me of the village of my childhood”. Following this crush, he left the Paris region and moved to Valergues by buying the existing pizzeria, leaving his wife and children for eighteen months, a difficult period for the family. “Despite this separation, I have always had the support of my family”.

In 2012, he opened his pizzeria. Today, an Italian delicatessen has been added on the initiative of his sons AndrĂ©a and Thomas. “I’ve been here for ten years and I’m good there. Retirement, I don’t think about it, I’m already through my activity that I love. If I had to start over, I would do the same thing. My childhood was marked by the death of my father when I was 10 years old, the adults who surrounded me at the time made me grow”.

Gino participates in village life through local associations. You shouldn’t ask him for the recipe for his dough, he keeps it secret and learned it at the age of 13. Quality is its leitmotif.

What can we wish him? “I lived 26 years in Turin, 26 years in the Paris region, I hope to live 52 years in Valergues. May my children take over, I will always be there to help them as long as my health allows me”.

Gino offers a variety of pizzas ranging from Prosciutto to Southern Calzone or Vegetarian or his pizza of the month.
