Louis Chedid, singer-songwriter

Louis Chedid, artist-songwriter-composer, was born in Egypt in Ismaïlia on the banks of the Suez Canal on January 1, 1948, while the Chédid family had already been living in Paris since 1945. His mother Andrée Chédid was a Franco-French poet and writer. Lebanese and her father Louis Selim Chédid, Egyptian, is a doctor and scientist. A schoolboy in a religious school, Louis made his debut as a singer with the “Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois”, and as a teenager he played the guitar and wrote his first songs. After his baccalaureate in 1968, he left to study cinema in Brussels to become a director and directed two short films. He returned to Paris in 1970 where he married Marianna Bochart, his first two children were born in 1970, Émilie, and in 1971 Matthieu (singer M). Louis was an editor at Gaumont-Actualités then a documentary filmmaker until 1973, the year of the release of his first album. infancyhe then devoted himself to music.
