Jussie Smollett celebrates her #1 spot on the Apple R&B/Soul charts

Former “Star of the Empire” Jussie Smollet has come a long way from his infamous case for allegedly lying to the police to celebrating his No. 1 spot as a solo artist on the Apple Music charts.

Jussie Smollett’s song “Some Things” hit No. 1 on the R&B/Soul Apple charts and No. 17 for all genres.

Smollett saw the accomplishment and wanted to thank the fans for helping him achieve it:

“Yall… We reached number 1 on the iTunes r&b charts and number 17 across all genres. It’s my first number as a solo artist, my own music, released on my own label, completely independent of any conglomerate.

The actor-turned-artist continued:

“You know a little about what I went through. So it means more than I can explain. I promise you a full job is coming and we will make you proud. I love you so deeply and I mean it. Keep working and loving hard.

Additionally, fans in the comments were happy for the former ‘Empire’ star:

“I can’t explain the joy this brings me, I’m so proud of you and love you so much, keep thriving my sweet.”

Another fan said:

“So amazing, so proud, let’s go.”

A few months ago, Smollett also released a song shortly after his court appearance.

Former Star of the Empire Jussie Smollett brought his kidnapping case into the booth with the new song “Thank You, God.”

He still claims he is innocent of all charges and uses his voice to raise money for the Illinois Innocence Project.
