“It takes time to chisel and assert yourself”

With nine studio albums, a Victoire de la Musique, 500,000 records sold, the interpreter of “All that separates us” or “Nathalie Wood” has evolved. Jil Caplan knew how to surround himself with the best melodists and arrangers to, little by little, over the albums, The Snake Charmer at Behind the door, forge a true author-performer personality. A place apart in the world of calibrated variety, with this singular, pure, limpid, unaffected vocal signature.
With “Imparfaite”, Jil Caplan presented us with an album at the crossroads of song and swing and gypsy jazz. The result of an encounter with the virtuoso guitarist Romane, heir to Django Reinhardt and eclectic composer.
