iPhone 14: payment in 24x free of charge on the Apple Store does not work

Like every year, the reopening of the Apple Store for pre-orders of new iPhones is a crucial moment for the brand. A step during which you should not miss even if this is unfortunately what happened with the 24x payment system free of charge. Explanations.

Everything didn’t go as planned

Since Friday September 9, 2022, 2 p.m., it is possible to pre-order the iPhone 14 on the Apple Store. This year, two solutions are available to you, either you pay the total amount in one go, or you go through the payment in 24x free of charge.

For this second solution, Apple France has partnered with Alma, a company specializing in payment in installments. If on paper this method can be useful for many customers who do not have the final amount to pay right away, it seems that everything did not go as planned.

Indeed, as demonstrated by the many comments on Twitter and other forums, there were a lot of refusals during the validation process. Refusals that were not related to the profile of consumers but indeed to a bug following the massive arrival of orders over a short period of time.

The company obviously reacted immediately by admitting that there had been a problem and above all to warn everyone that a replacement system had been put in place until the problem was solved.

In the meantime, Alma promises to take care of any customers who were unable to finalize their transaction. A little additional info, if during your order, the delivery date displayed September 16, you will receive your iPhone 14 on this date, even if the final step could not be executed.

Did you encounter a problem when ordering your new iPhone with payment in 24x free of charge on the Apple Store or on the contrary it went perfectly?
