Bilal Hassani, here during the closing night of the 5th Canneseries International Festival, in Cannes, on April 6, 2022.
MEDIA – Guest of the show seven to eight on TF1 this Sunday, September 11, Bilal Hassani publicly revealed a rape of which he says he was the victim three years ago, after an evening.
The singer, who devoted a title of his next album – Theoremwhich will be released this fall – to this drama, confided in an interview with Audrey Crespo-Mara (listen in the video below).
“It’s something that’s been haunting me since the year it happened, it was 2019. Someone in my circle, someone I trusted; we left in the evening. I came home from that evening with him. I had drunk, suddenly, two, three glasses. But I didn’t feel what you feel when you drink two, three glasses. I was clearly under the influence of a substance that I hadn’t wanted to take, and I started having blackouts, moments when I had no memory. And I was waking up, and it was happening which can translate into a sexual assault. It was a rape”says the representative of France at Eurovision 2019.
With audacity and pride, it imposes its singularity. Since his childhood, this has earned him attacks and threats. How did… https://t.co/eEI3phRSo6

“I woke up the next morning, he was in my bed, and I couldn’t understand why, and I was like, ‘don’t ask questions, don’t say anything, move on, move on’continues Bilal Hassani.
Why didn’t he file a complaint? “I couldn’t talk about it in public, and this is the only time I’m going to do it. I didn’t feel like giving a new string to feed the hate I’m getting”responds the juror of season 12 of Dance with the stars. “In fact, what would have happened, if I had filed a complaint, it would have been known, fairly quickly, and it would have become the subject”he concludes.
