Hurricane Fiona: Apple will donate to help Puerto Rico

Hurricane Fiona caused extensive damage, particularly in Puerto Rico, which was under water and without electricity, and with 800,000 people deprived of drinking water. Apple will help with a donation.

As often, it is Tim Cook himself who announces the donation. Apple’s boss posted a tweetthis is what it says: “Our hearts go out to the people of Puerto Rico who are coming together to rebuild once again. We will donate to help with immediate relief and ongoing reconstruction efforts. To anyone still in the path of Hurricane Fiona, please stay safe.”

Hurricane Fiona caused landslides, downed trees and power lines, made roads impassable and led to the collapse of a bridge in the town of Utuado, in the mountainous region in the center of the island, Governor Pedro Pierluisi said.

Puerto Rico is not the only place that has been hit by the hurricane, there are also the Dominican Republic and Guadeloupe, with roads cut and a water supply that has been disrupted.
