Free’s TV service, Oqee, may malfunction on some Apple TVs. The operator is aware of the issue and is working on a fix with Apple teams.
For several months now, Free has been offering its subscribers its television service via the Oqee home application. What to do without the operator’s decoder and still be able to access the channels and other services offered by Free from another device such as a smartphone, tablet, connected TV or Apple TV that Free also offers on sale.
An issue with the TV Provider functionality
However, Free no longer controls the entire ecosystem around its television service via these solutions and cannot do anything when a bug occurs on one of these devices. This is also what is currently happening on some Apple TVs where Oqee malfunctions, according to Univers Freebox.
Several Free subscribers thus no longer have access to television on their Apple device and two error messages are successively displayed on the screen with a first indicating to connect and the other indicating: “an error has occurred”.
Free is aware of the problem and is working on its resolution with the Apple teams since it is a problem related to the “TV Provider” functionality which is on tvOS. The latter allows you to simply identify yourself and avoids you having to reconnect to Oqee.
For the time being, there is no indication of how long it could take before being entitled to a correction, so we will have to take our troubles patiently.
