Bertrand Renard and Arielle Boulin-Prat, the two pillars of the game show “Numbers and Letters”, spoke, Monday, August 22, in the evening, of a departure “constrained and forced”rejecting the version put forward by France Télévisions of a change of formula that they would have refused.
In a press release sent to Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Parisianthe two historical figures of the PAF give their version of their departure and evoke “a situation of rare violence”.
“What is discreetly referred to as a “contractual disagreement” arose, because FTV demanded a reduction in our salary of around 60% and refused to grant us the CDI that we had the audacity to claim”, they say in the press release. They also point out:
Because, yes, you read correctly, we have been on fixed-term contracts for thirty-six years for Arielle, and forty-seven years for Bertrand… We don’t exist, even though we are on the air every day. This regularization was flatly refused.
On Friday, Alexandra Redde-Amiel, director of FTV’s games, variety and entertainment unit, announced the departure at Parisian. “We did not agree and we regret it”she said.
Former candidate of the game, Bertrand Renard refereed the numbers section and Arielle Boulin-Prat that of the letters. According The Parisianthey will say their farewells on September 11, via the “broadcast of the last issues boxed before the summer”.
