Apple releases iOS 12.5.6 for older iPhones and iPads that can’t have iOS 13

What’s great about Apple is that the company thinks about customers who choose to keep their older generation iPhone and/or iPad rather than upgrade to a newer model. Even though iOS 12 is an old update that was released in 2018, security patches continue to be released!

iOS 12.5.6 is available

There are three types of Apple customers, those who renew their iPhone every year to have the latest innovations, customers who wait 2 or 3 years to change their iPhone and those who keep an old iPhonebecause they don’t care much about the latest products (or have a limited budget).

To this last category of consumers, Apple responds here. The Californian giant maintains its desire to provide the best security for iPhones and iPads which cannot migrate to iOS 13 due to a lack of compatibility.

For 30 minutes, customers who still have the:

  • iPhone 5S
  • iPhone 6 or 6 Plus
  • iPad Air
  • iPad mini 2
  • iPad mini 3
  • iPod Touch 6th Generation

can install iOS 12.5.6 which is normally visible in their iPhone settings under “General”.
The update which turns out to be light actually brings only security patchesprobably the same as recent iPhones had with iOS 15.6.1!
