Apple extends iPhone 12 repair plan

Apple has decided to extend the repair program for iPhone 12 and 12 Pro which had sound problems.

This is good news for all iPhone 12 and 12 Pro owners. Indeed, the repair program dealing with the front speaker is extended by one year. This means that all iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are eligible for a free repair for up to three years from the date of purchase. Previously, it was possible to have these smartphones repaired up to two years after purchase.

Apple goes into overtime

The launch of the first program was in August 2021. At that time, Apple discovered that a very small percentage of iPhone 12 or 12 Pro were experiencing sound issues. Having publicly acknowledged the quality concerns, the Cupertino company has set up a global repair program.

As a reminder, the eligible devices are the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro. whose manufacture is located between October 2020 and April 2021. The iPhone 12 mini and Pro Max are unfortunately not part of this repair program.

How to take advantage of it?

As a reminder, if one of its models has some sound problems, you have three possibilities:

  1. You can simply make an appointment at an official store to have your phone repaired.
  2. You can use the services of an approved supplier who will then maintain the device free of charge.
  3. You can contact Apple’s support team directly to arrange for the iPhone to be sent to a repair center.
