a new pizzeria in People’s Square

“Piperno, these are incandescent volcanic rocks. The shape of the pizza recalls the outline of a volcano,” describes Dorian Cecchinel. He is responsible for the Piperno pizzeria and Côté Sushi, two restaurants of the ETLB group. The pizzeria moved upstairs two weeks ago. While Côté Sushi had already occupied the Place du Peuple since April.

“We wanted to mix the traditional and the modern”

“We wanted to mix the traditional and the modern”, explains Dorian Cecchinel.

The restaurant decorated in a welcoming and vintage way offers Neapolitan specialties between 5 and 18 euros. Pizzas, salads, antipasti, desserts… everything is cooked with products imported from Italy. Each quarter, a pizza and a seasonal salad are added to the menu.

In addition to the revisited dishes, Piperno will gradually add vegetarian and halal options for its customers. “We want to welcome everyone,” explains the restaurant manager.

“A lot of Italians come here”

The pizzeria is developing: “Since the opening, we have counted 100 take-out orders. For the moment, attendance is stable, but we have to wait a few months before becoming known. The restaurant has been open for two weeks, and people are already coming back,” says Dorian.

“A lot of Italians come here, I think it’s significant,” he concludes with a smile.
