How to Create Adobe Startup Shapes in Illustrator
Today, we happily present a whole new category, Illustrator tutorials. Adobe has just come out with theres new cs5 pack with a lot of new changes that are obvious and some a bit less visible. But we will create the new “loading boot-up” that appear when you launch one of the Adobe software. They have been really creative when they created them, it’s good when a company like Adobe also spend time on such a small things like this.
What We’re Making
Before we get started, let’s take a look at the shape we’ll be creating.
Materials
Before we get started with this tutorial, we need to get some shapes to work with. I´ve taken some screen-prints of some adobe program-startups. If you want to use them just right-click on a image and open it in a new window.

Step 1
Open up Illustrator and create a new document, 250mm width 100mm height. Import one of the screen-prints. I have chosen InDesign.
Step 2
Now this we can do in many different ways, but we are going to use the Rectangle Tool (M). Create a shape and then use the Direction Selection Tool (A) to move corners like how you want.
Step 3
In this kind of project the colors make a big difference of the depth and to trick the eye. Choose the Gradient Tool (G) and create a gradient from #A8326C to #530D2B.
Step 4
It is really that hard to create these kind of eye tricks. Repeat the steps 2-4 and create some more shapes with the Rectangle Tool (M).
Conclusion
We are done. This is a really simple way to create something like this, but the tutorials purpose is to start your creative mind and make you inspired. Thanks for reading!
