The New Design

WordPress 3.0 – Optimized

We have made the new design more optimized with a lot of the new functions that comes in WordPress 3.0. It makes everything a bit faster, all the theme-picture/files have a lower size which creates a faster page load. Some weeks ago we moved to Amazon S3 (which we are still moving to). The pictures and the larger sized files are now loaded from our Amazon server. Another thing is that we width of the site are know smaller then before, we had some question why it were that big as it was. It now fits smaller screens with bigger resolutions!

New Logo

There have been some updates with the logo. We thought the old logo was not so clear. It was simply not good enough for Wordrom. After a while we sat and played with the logo in Illustrator with different ideas that we have gained inspiration from the internet so we managed to get up this sign, where “D” is a shape.

Design Highlights

There are many new highlights with the new design. We will go trough some of them.

Browsing Futures are one thing that are new. It is now easy to know what you are currently browsing. When you want to browse Authors, Categories or tags, it will look like something in this way.

The Subscribe Box. A box where you can find our twitter or RSS feed. While we are on this topic, please subscribe, or follow us on twitter!

Share This! In the end of every article we of course have the author information. But below it we have a new share/related post section.

Twitter feed

In the sidebar we have added our twitter feed, with the latest updates happening on Wordrom. Some days ago we wrote an article that we will share everything good (Tutorials, Inspiration, Big news + a lot more) that we find, or the articles we think you would want to read.

In the future there will be a series of post about how you build a WordPress theme. We will keep it on a easy level, so everyone could understand. The posts will also be breaking in small parts, not to information at the same time! Please head back in the future if you want to read these awesome WordPress theme building articles!
