What we often see but do not think about is that all the advertising around us, it has been created by a clever designer. Someone must have done it? Our moms never let us have these when we were kids, so we were pretty excited when Cramer-Krasselt gave us a call to do the 2011 ATV lineup for Can-Am. C-K sent us hundreds of actions shots and reference, which we composited, stylized, and retouched to meet product specs. Then we took piles of CG data, stripped it down, sorted through it, and assembled it to be product correct. After texturing, lighting and rendering the vehicles’s, we dropped them into the action shots where we applied further lighting effects to settle them in. For the finishing touches, we added the vector graphics and applied a few overall techniques, and voila: Our childhood dreams come true (and a pretty nice series of ads, too).
